Welcome to The Trading Quest

I have tried to become rich for as long as I can remember, and I have failed on all of my attempts. I have given up too early, not giving enough energy, tried too much, etc. And all this has just led to nothing. I have a great paying job, and my bank account is looking great. But this is going to be separate from this journey.

What is my goal?

I want this journey to be as relatable as possible. So I can't start with a huge initial capital on my account. I'm only going to start with $1,000, and we'll take it from there. My ultimate goal is to reach $1,000,000 before the year of 2030. The first deposit goes in on November 1, 2026, so I have around 38 months to do this.

With the initial $1,000, I'm going to need to increase my account by around 20% each month. And this is quite insane. Probably on the verge of impossible. But hey, why not try?

Increasing my account by 20% one month shouldn't be a problem, but doing it consistently for 38 months will probably be near impossible. Maybe not impossible, but most traders with a little bit of experience will probably say that I'm too naive. So why do I even bother?

To reach the goal of 20% per month I might need to do some "gambling", and this is something I'm okay with. Trading and gambling shouldn't really go hand in hand though. Trading should be kind of boring, and require a lot of discipline.

But for this journey, I will make an exception. I have a separate account where I'm more conservative, because that's important as well.

I'm going to do a mix between day trading, swing trading, long term investment, selling covered calls, etc. I will try out a few different strategies, and see what works for me and not.

What will I be posting?

I'm going to post a mix of my progress, tips and tricks, tutorials, analysis, etc. I want to be as open and transparent as I can. Hopefully I can also teach you a thing or two as well.

My side hustles

Currently, I have a couple of side hustles. Money from these will not be a part of this journey anyways.

Hopefully, I will be able to earn a dollar or two from this blog. If so, those dollars will be deposited to my IBKR account, and that will help me reach my goal.

I also have an idea for a SaaS I want to build, maybe a community for other people in the "same boat" as me, creating a course, etc. I have a lot of ideas, I just need time and patience to pull off all of this.

Let's get started

On November 1, 2026, I'm depositing $1,000 to one of my accounts on Interactive Brokers (Not an affiliate link). That's the day my journey officially starts.

I have set up some spreadsheets, and I'm looking forward to start filling out my journey, compare my progress to the plan of reaching a million dollars, etc.

So with a bit of YOLO (Haha, words like this is something I rarely use. But maybe I need to embrace the lifestyle of the people from /r/WallStreetBets?) trades, and some patience, and some luck, I'm ready to start. Let's see where I'm at in a little over 3 years from now :-D
